Colon capsule is an exciting new method of viewing the colon that is still in the trial phase. It involves swallowing a small camera that switches on after a time delay and images the large bowel. At the Macmurray Centre we have the only Doctors in New Zealand that have experience with this technique. It is not currently funded but we are looking at providing this if patients request it specifically.
