Digestive Diseases & Endoscopy - MacMurray Gastroenterology Auckland, New Zealand

Some medications may interfere with the examination or bowel prep but generally most medications can be continued as usual.  Inform your doctor/ clinic about medications you are taking, particularly aspirin products, arthritis medications, anticoagulants (blood thinners), insulin or iron products. You will have to stop the iron preparations one week before the colonoscopy.  Please ensure you inform your specialist and admitting nurse of any allergies.
