I am a New Zealand trained Gastroenterologist who was born in Wellington of Taiwanese descent who grew up in Hong Kong therefore I speak Mandarin and Cantonese.
I attended Otago Medical School graduating in 1999 and completed my specialist training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology was completed in the Auckland region in 2007 . In 2008 I did a two year research fellowship in advanced therapeutic endoscopy in Hong Kong at Institute of Digestive Disease, Prince of Wales Hospital, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. I returned to Auckland and am practicing at Middlemore Hospital as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and General Physician.
I have a broad range of interests in all aspects of gastroenterology, but have a particular interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Disease, Colorectal cancer screening, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopangreatography (ERCP) and interventional endoscopy. I enjoy teaching medical students and endoscopy training.
