Having qualified as a consultant in gastroenterology, my practice has been dominated by hepatology since 1998. During this time I have acquired a broad range of experience in liver disease and the practice of liver transplantation.
Before moving to New Zealand in 2003, I was trained at Kings College Hospital in London, one of the largest liver transplant centres in Europe. I have worked as a consultant hepatologist in Manchester, UK in a practice dominated by large numbers of patients with alcoholic liver disease and viral hepatitis. I am currently working as one of three consultant hepatologists in the New Zealand Liver Transplant Unit, based here in Auckland, looking after patients with all aspects of liver disease including those who need assessment for or who have undergone liver transplantation.
